“The Winter’s Tale” is an epic romance that spans two kingdoms, four marriages, and sixteen years. A friendly visit from the king of Bohemia to the neighboring kingdom of Sicily becomes an international scandal when the local King Leontes accuses his own wife of adultery with his guest. The situation quickly spirals out of control, and Leontes is left with no wife, no children, and a kingdom in decline. Shakespeare’s “Tale” explores how jealousy, redemption, and forgiveness can tear families apart and bring them together. Join Traveling Players in a world of thieving pickpockets, omniscient oracles, and very hungry bears.

About the performance

Weather permitting, the performance will take place on the lawn behind Agecroft Hall. Please be sure to bring your own chairs or blankets to sit on!

Gates open at 6pm for pre-show picnicking. Blankets, chairs, and small coolers are permitted. Umbrellas, tents, tables, and other shelters are prohibited.

Cancellation Policy

Patrons will receive cancellation-related updates by 5:30pm on the day of the show announced via email, Facebook & Instagram.

Instead of canceling, the performance could be brought inside. Should the show be canceled (including after the show begins), all ticket-holding patrons will be eligible to: 1) receive a refund of 50% of the ticket cost, or 2) convert the ticket cost to a tax-deductible donation to Traveling Players. Refund requests can be made by emailing boxoffice@travelingplayers.org.
