About The Event

The Richmond Renaissance Dancers visit Agecroft Hall for a fun program called “The Dancing Queen: Court Dance in the Age of Elizabeth." The program presents the majesty and elegance of court dancing from the perspective of Queen Elizabeth I and her courtiers. English almans and country dances, French branles, and Italian balli and cascarde were all part of the Elizabethan court repertoire. The Queen’s court will come alive once more through demonstrations of these late 16th century dances by the costumed Richmond Renaissance Dancers. Queen Elizabeth portrayer Linda Macdonald will also provide informative narrative and historical background, all within the beautiful surroundings of Agecroft Hall.
